Character actor Dehl Berti was born on January 17, 1921 in Pueblo, Colorado. A Chiricahua Apache, Berti was often cast as Native Americans in both films and television shows alike. After moving to Los Angeles, California as a boy, Dehl began his career in show business writing for radio while a student at Los Angeles City College. Berti eventually moved to New York City, where he acted in Broadway stage productions of "Richard III," "Thank You, Svoboda," and "The Strong Are Lonely." However, it was in the medium of television that Dehl made his strongest and most significant mark: He not only was a regular on both Buck James (1987) and Paradise (1988), but also made guest appearances on a slew of TV shows over the course of several decades. Berti died from a heart attack at age seventy on November 26, 1991. At the time of his death Dehl was survived by two sons, daughter Derya Arbas, and two grandchildren. Show less «
