Gillian Steventon was born in Warwickshire, relocating to London in her twenties to pursue a career in art and design at Central Saint Martin's School of Art. Whilst working as a designer at Riverside Studios and the BBC she started attending acting workshops and play readings. The realization that acting was her true love very quickly emerged.It wasn't until her daughter had left home for university that Gillian took the opportunity to train professionally as an actor at The Bridge Theatre Training Company in Camden.Her film debut was as an MI6 Operative in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy directed by Tomas Alfredson alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, John Hurt and Toby Jones.
