Jackie Apodaca received her BFA in theatre at UC Santa Barbara and an MFA in acting from the National Theatre Conservatory. She has worked as an actor and director throughout the country with companies such as the Roundabout Theatre Company, The Denver Center Theatre Company, SRT, and The Elephant Theatre Company which produced her play, "My Only Hopeless." Jackie spent several years as Head of Production for Modern Media; a Los Angeles based commercial production company. She has also worked in production for companies such as National Geographic, Graphic Films, SK Films, and Tuck and Go Productions. Jackie served as a Lecturer in Film and Media Studies at University of California at Santa Barbara, where she taught acting, directing, production, and Hollywood industry. She is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Southern Oregon University where she teaches acting, directing, film and and auditions/acting industry. She spent many years as the Producing Director of Shakespeare Santa Barbara and has been a Resident Artist at both the Uprising Theatre Company and Venice Theatre Works. Jackie is a Senior Columnist for Back Stage newspaper for which she shares a weekly column, "The Working Actor," with actor Michael Kostroff (www.backstage.com/workingactor) and moderates "The Working Actor"forum on www.backstage.com.
