Josh Wood is a British actor and film producer. Born Joshua Edward Dylan Wood, he is the elder son of Susan Jane Wood and John Curle. His maternal blue-blooded family tree descends from Earls, Viscounts, Baronets and diplomats. Joshua is the third great-grandson of Charles Lindley Wood, 2nd Viscount of Halifax and Lady Agnes Elizabeth Wood (née Courtenay), daughter of William Reginald Courtenay, 11th Earl of Devon. He is the third great nephew of E.F.L. Wood, 1st Earl of Halifax known as Lord Irwin, who was Viceroy of India, Foreign Secretary and prior to the Second World War, he served as British Ambassador to Washington.Josh and his twin brother Jared spent their childhood in Kensington, West London, United Kingdom. After his mother passed away, he spent the next few years being raised by his grandmother in Los Angeles, California. Josh attended private school in West Los Angeles.He started his career as a print model. After experiencing the film making process, Wood realized that what he wanted to do was to make films. At the young age, Josh spent some time on film sets where he learnt the film making process.He began his career in film as a production intern at New Line and later hired as a "floater" and served in a variety of assisting capacities. Josh worked his way up from production assistant to the executive in charge of production.Following the financial crisis of 2008 in the United States, he decided to leave Los Angeles for London.In 2010, he was invited to Moscow, Russia to work on a feature film. Shortly after that, Wood and director Ivan Solovov launched several projects, which includes Starshaya zhena (2010) and TV-movie Zhena generala (2011). Josh successfully produced and delivered three TV-movies with budgets from $3 million to $5 million for Rossiya One, a state-owned Russian television channel.
