Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Mario Macaluso began his acting career in New York, where he was a finalist at the Actor's Studio. He then went on to London to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, participating in their Shakespeare program.His current projects include an anti-bullying movie called Broken Silence based on a true story that will air in the fall and also on a comedy gangster film called Mulberry to Rome. Macaluso's recent work includes The Wannabe directed by Nick Sandow and Produced by Martin Scorsese and Broadwalk Empire playing the role of Incrocci the nephew of the NY boss Joe Massaria. Bad Girl Island would be the second time Stewart Raffill worked with Mario who played an LA agent representing Antonio Sabato Jr. and James Brolin and then worked with him on a children's film called Standing Ovation, in which he played a father re-united with his daughter after the death of his wife. He completed another film called 79 parts playing the role of Pigeon a gangster who has no desire to be one and he's announced to play the role of Tony Seaside in Chris Gambali's Nights of Turquoise. He also produces a reading series for emerging writers at the Actors Chapel in NYC.Macaluso's early acting credits include starring opposite Academy-Award winning actress Olympia Dukakis, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Laine Kazan in The Intervention, a recurring role on the CBS television program The Handler, starring Joe Pantoliano, as well as a recurring role on Watching Ellie with Julia Louise Dreyfus. He visited Berlin to work on an experimental film called Wrong Number. He then went on to London to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, participating in their Shakespeare program. Additional works include: Saved by the Rules, Potluck, Bluemoon, Pride & Loyalty, Hanging in Hedo, Mobqueen, Summer of Sam, Bamboozled, and more.Macaluso is very active in the acting community and is a member of many organizations. He and Jimmy Kimmel are founding members of the San Gennaro Foundation, producing a star-studded festival every year. He is a proud member of the Friar's Club in New York and a founding member of the Sons of Italy Chapter in Hollywood.He has dual citizenship for the United States and Italy, Macaluso accepts work on occasion overseas.He divides his time between projects in Hollywood and New York. When he's not busy working, he is very active in a variety of charities including the Lollipop theater group, which services hospitalized and terminally ill children, and the Story Project, which teaches inner city kids about writing.His greatest accomplishment is his beautiful family, his wife Allison and his daughter Alessandra who he loves dearly.
