Writer, actor and fighter Randy DeOrio was born in Chicago, Illinois but raised in Paterson, New Jersey. From an early age, Randy was attracted to athletics - most notably to martial arts. Throughout his childhood, he pursued his fighting ambitions with much vigor, learning the craft and honing his instincts until his efforts were ready to go from the Dojo to the arena. In time, Randy was a full-contact Karate tournament fighter with a respectable record of 109-19. Further, Randy would eventually go on to become an award-winning Diamond Glove boxer with a brief professional career. Soon though, Randy began feeling antsy and eager to branch out into other interests. That is when Randy decided that his fighting days were reaching their end and he started to develop a great draw towards acting. He began watching films rigorously and learning everything he could about the craft until he felt ready to attempt it for himself. He began doing community theater where he cut his teeth. Like learning to fight, acting was trial and error, with more-experienced actors showing Randy the ropes, so to speak. Soon he began to feel comfortable and more confident in his abilities. The rush and energy from live performance reminded him of his fighting days and he was immediately addicted to that euphoric glow he would feel as he walked onto the stage and the enveloping echo of the audience's applause. After some time in the theater Randy then began pursuing film work, where he felt he could really shine. Film to Randy, was the consummate art-form, where artists could together collaborate towards a singular goal. This too was a learning experience for him, but one where he found his footing rather quickly and where he has really felt at home.Randy feels lucky to have worked with as many talented artists as he has in such a short period of time - starring in a string of independent films such as "The Right to Live," "Fight the Panda Syndicate" and its upcoming sequel "Revenge of the Panda Syndicate," "Hangman's Noose" and "Scars of a Predator."Around the time Randy began immersing himself in film, he realized that he had a budding story to tell - a story that he knew he had to write. His first novel, "Jaded: a true story" is about the experiences of Randy's own cousin Alisha. In addition to his film work, Randy has also been seen on "Law & Order," several local New York/New Jersey area cable television talk shows and the Biogentix CE 6 infomercial.Randy has several other film projects in development in addition to "Jaded 2," the sequel of his book "Jaded."
