Sarah D. McCarthy was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but moved to Liverpool, Nova Scotia with her family when she was 3, and considers it her hometown. She was involved in community theatre, choir, solo singing, soccer, basketball, running, and various student organizations. Sarah is still close with most of her childhood friends. Sarah attended Liverpool Regional High School, Queen's University (BAH-sociology) in Kingston, Ontario and Neptune Theatre School's Pre-professional Training Program in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
