Sheldon Charron was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, but he spent most of his life on a horse ranch east of the city. It was obvious from an early age that he liked to perform. He would entertain friends and family, singing in the school and church choirs, dancing, and acting in school plays and musicals. He began playing the piano at age 7 and then the trombone through junior and high school. He was the class clown, always cracking jokes and goofing around. His first appearance on TV was for a Winnipeg airband competition where John and his friends danced and lip-synced to The Bird, from the movie Purple Rain. Teachers also realized his gift as a writer early. He was known for his imagination and elaborate short stories.He was also an adrenaline junkie. He played pretty much every sport that did not conflict with his hockey schedule. He joined Navy League at 11 years old, then Sea Cadets, and then the Naval Reserve. A huge outdoorsman, he went hunting and fishing with his dad, was into dirtbikes, road bikes, ATV's, offroad trucks, snowmobiles, horses and much more.He decided on a career in business and after graduating commerce, he ran a cellular phone business, was a real estate broker, then owned an advertising agency and software development company. When his father passed away in 2006; however, he began to rethink his childhood dream of performing. A few years later, he sold his home and everything he owned and moved to Vancouver. Soon after he attended New York Film Academy's Acting For Film program in Los Angeles. His first big role was on AMC's Hell On Wheels.. Show less «
