"A constant source of joy and amusement", is how Sonya Krikorian Kalian's parents (George & Margaret Krikorian) always described their forth of five children. Sonya would have said that she was just being herself. Expressive, confident, hysterical, colorful (sailor mouth), and a times a bit unconventional. A slight contrast from her conservative Armenian upbringing. Born March 1964, Sonya was raised strongly rooted in the Armenian Church and culture which is where she emulated the artistic talents of inspiring Armenians. It was there where she felt most comfortable making and maintaining her life long friends Carol, Rosemarie and Suzanne. Sonya knew that this dark haired beauty would not quite fit in to the ordinary suburban Maryland mold of Rockville, Maryland where she was born and raised. Graduate of the University of Maryland Radio, TV and Film school, Sonya began in radio whilst advancing into community theatre, television and recently independent film, "Spent", with director/writer Lisa Mikitarian. Other credits include House of Cards, The Nightmare Next Door, Evil Kin as well as industrial training videos. However, Sonya's most treasured performance is being a wife of 27 years to Peter and mummy to her two adult children, Vlad & Kirk Kalian. Show less «
