Steven Vega was born and raised in the Boogie Down Bronx. In third grade he had the lead role in the school production of Pinocchio. He was so excited that he had his mother buy him a pair of coffee colored stockings to make his legs look like wood. At the end of the school year his mom told him that his teacher suggested that she put him in drama class that he'd be good at it. Not knowing what the word drama meant Steven told his mom; "Drama?" "I don't even like the drums."In wasn't until many years later that Steven was bitten by the acting bug when he was invited to join the cast of the New York Premier of Ray Bradbury's "Farenheit 451" by a friend who was the Musical Director. It was during that show where he had an epiphany. One night Steven got so sick from food poisoning he wanted to go home but instead decided to stick it out. Immediately after his performance he realized that for a brief moment while on stage he didn't feel sick at all. It was at that very moment he decided he wanted to pursue a career in acting.Steven went on to train at a 2 year Conservatory at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He also studied at NYU, HB Studios and privately.Steven learned a lot about the business side of acting from his mentor and friend Lisa Gold who owns/runs Act Outside The Box. He highly recommends taking all of her seminars and workshops because that's exactly what he did.Steven has a quick intellectual comedic wit which sometimes can make him seem snarky. He is an upbeat, fun loving individual who is into elevating his energetic vibe and of those around him.Steven's dedication and hard work shines through in everything he does because he believes that people's time and attention are extremely valuable.His goal is to add value and enjoyment to other people's lives through his acting.
