Ever wanting to be loved in a relationship, Lana Lang had a relationship with Adam Knight. Adam and Lana met in a rehabilitation clinic after Lana got trampled by a horse. Appreciating that he pushed her to improve, Lana began a relationship with Adam. However, in fact Adam was trying to get more involved with Lana's life so that he could get more involved with Clark's life, with the intention of discovering any secrets about Clark and sharing them with Lionel Luthor in exchange for a serum that prolongs his life. When Lionel breaks the deal, Adam no longer has the serum needed and goes on a mad rampage to find it, discovering Clark's secret in the process right before passing away again.
