Austin Moon is one of the two main characters of the Disney Channel Sitcom Austin & Ally. He is played by Ross Lynch and was created by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert.Austin Monica Moon is a 16-year-old(15 in the debut episode) teen pop singing sensation from the Miami-Dade County area(evidently Miami Beach, Florida) who gained fame from a YouTube-type video website with a music video for the song Double Take. which was produced by his friend Dez. However, Moon didn't write the song himself, and sub-consciously got the song from a budding young female songwriter named Ally Dawson who is the same age he is, and works at his favorite after school hangout Sonic Boom, a music store owned by her father Lester Dawson at an outdoor shopping mall known as the Mall of Miami.When Dawson found that he got his song from her she became furious at him. However once he realized how dependent he is on her songwriting he tries and eventually succeeds at talking her into being her partner.Austin's parents are Mike and Mimi Moon, the co-owners of Moon's Mattress Kingdom, a local mattress store in the Miami area.
