Through a chain of energizing events, this series pursues Tru Davies, the young lady who has recently moved on from the college. From that point forward, she works at a night move at the city morgue. There, she finds that she can repeat the day commonly and avoid murders or other awful things.
You may think that dead people talking to somebody is a little beyond your suspension of disbelief, but it's handled well, and the supernatural elements remain tastefully restrained all the way to the finale.
The pace picks up as the series progresses and Tru's creepy/funny morgue boss gets more airtime, and less interesting characters are put on ice to make way for the now so-cheesy-he's-genius Jason Priestley.
Dushku brings terrific energy and range to a role that doesn't much ask for either. She's not the first star to outclass a tv series concept, but wouldn't everyone be happier if the show could keep up?
